Data Management Policy
Effective June 11, 2026
This page explains, in plain language, how GrokCred handles your data. We wrote it to be easy to read. If you want the full legal detail, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
How we use your data
We use your information to run the service and make it work well for you. That means:
- To create your badges and certificates and deliver them to the right people.
- To let you and your recipients view a credential and check that it is real.
- To keep a record of what you have issued and earned, so you can find it later.
- To send you important messages, like a badge email or an account notice.
- To keep the service safe, working, and free of fraud.
We never sell your data
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it or trade it, and we do not use it to run ads. Your data is yours. We only use it to give you the service you signed up for.
We keep your history so you can reach it
We hold on to your information for one main reason: so you can always get back to your own digital badge and certificate history. When you sign in, you can see the credentials you have issued or earned, check their details, and share them again whenever you need to.
You stay in control. If you no longer want us to keep your information, you can ask us to delete your account at any time.
How we keep your data safe
We protect your information in several ways:
- Encryption: information that travels between your device and GrokCred is scrambled using HTTPS — the same kind of protection used by banks and online stores — so other people cannot read it.
- Safe sign-in: we use a trusted sign-in provider to handle logins and passwords. We never store your raw password ourselves.
- Private by default: your account is walled off from every other account. You can only see and manage your own badges, recipients, and history — and no one else can see yours.
- Hidden email addresses: on public badge pages we never show a recipient's email address. Behind the scenes we turn it into a one-way code that cannot be read back.
- Trusted hosting: we store your data with established cloud providers that follow strong, recognized security practices.
No online system is ever perfectly safe, but we work hard to protect your data and to fix problems quickly if they come up.
Standards we follow
- Open Badges 2.0: the worldwide standard for digital credentials. Following it means your badges work with LinkedIn and other platforms, not just ours.
- Privacy laws: we follow privacy rules like the GDPR (Europe) and the CCPA (California) that give you rights over your own information.
- Vetted partners: the companies we rely on for sign-in, hosting, and email meet recognized security standards such as SOC 2.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information at any time. If you received a badge from an organization and want your details changed or removed, contact that organization first, since they own that record. We will help them handle your request.
